IsoTechnology has developed a breakthrough non-intrusive medical system for patient rehabilitation following accidents and injuries.

The product is currently in use at a number of leading North American hospitals and rehabilitation facilities.

This cutting edge technology provides an objective assessment of treatment progression to help make informed decisions for insurance reports and injury claims. Additionally, the system can be used for the evaluation of lower limb injuries (ankle, foot, knee, hip etc.) and prosthetics training.

This technology was initially developed for the US military and field-tested in Iraq/Afghanistan for over 10 years.

IsoBALANCE and CHOICE include a variety of immersive challenges that assess postural stability and cognition, which can easily be integrated into a therapeutic treatment program. This sophisticated technology can be used for neuromuscular re-education, biofeedback training, and cognitive skills development.

IsoBALANCE and CHOICE can be catered to suit the needs of your treatment program with specialised protocols to address a variety of rehabilitation program requirements.

A basic test protocol for rehabilitation, which assesses postural stability and provides biofeedback training takes 5 minutes and consists of 4 non-invasive medical tests using the most advanced balance plate technology available in the world (AMTI). The first test is a one-minute balance assessment test (IsoBALANCE). The three remaining tests provide levels of increasing difficulty via biofeedback requiring the patient to use their posture to navigate each challenge; PATHWAY, SPELL and LOS (Limits of Stability). If required, cognition can also be evaluated using the cognitive software also included with the system: CHOICE, designed to assess decision making, planning, strategy and short term memory; and MAZE for fine motor control, eye tracking (nystagmus) and strategy.

The software will record data in real time and compare one session to the next, allowing a baseline for each patient to be created. This baseline can be used to make objective diagnosis for any subsequent trauma.
